News: The new Albanian proposal on the publication of citizens' salaries conflicts with the European privacy policy

The proposal by the Albanian Prime Minister, Edi Rama, to make the annual wages of Albanian citizens public, would constitute a legal obstacle to the possible entry of the country into the European Union. The European Commission has stated that the protection of personal data is a fundamental right in the EU and recalled that Albania has committed itself to adopt a revision of the law on the protection of personal data in line with the GDPR.
