EuroPride cancellation is a choice in Vučić's dilemma

The announcement that Europride 2022 would be held for the first time in a country in South-Eastern Europe has generated great enthusiasm, but Serb President, Aleksander Vučić, has decided to cancel the event under pressure from the Serbian Orthodox Church and extreme right-wing nationalist groups. Vučić explained that the reason for the cancellation of the event is to be found in the tensions between Serbia and Kosovo and in the possibility that the opponents could take advantage of the event, thus endangering the participants.
