News: Von Der Leyen Requests Additional EUR 2 Bln for Western Balkans

The European Commission requests for 2 billion euros, in addition to the financial support approved earlier regarding the 7-year framework, for the Western Balkans region. The President of the European Commission, Ursula Von Del Leyen, cited the EU’s energy crisis, rising prices in various sections and war on Ukraine as strains on the Western Balkan’s finances. The additional funds would be used for refugee accommodation centers and various migration programs.
