News: Serbia and Kosovo: EU failed its attempt to negotiate

On the sidelines of the European Council of 26 and 27 October, the Serbian President, Aleksandar Vucic, and the Kosovo Prime Minister, Albin Kurti, held two separate meetings with top European officials and leaders of Italy, France and Germany. A proposal for the creation of an association of majority Serbian municipalities in northern Kosovo was on the table, but it has been rejected by both sides. Vucic would have refused to recognise the independence of Kosovo and to accept its possible entry into the United Nations.
