The Balkan region has historical and emotional significance for Turkey, as it has been the central lands of the Ottoman Empire for centuries. On the other hand, Turkey is considered a strong and reliable partner for the Balkan countries and, as long as this image is maintained, Turkish-Balkan relations will continue to grow.
