News: Albania: A new negotiation chapter opened for EU accession

During the second intergovernmental conference held in Brussels, the EU opened a new cluster in Albania’s accession negotiations. Cluster 6 on external relations includes two negotiation chapters on external relations and foreign, security, and defence policy.
The conference followed the first intergovernmental conference held last October, where the EU officially started the accession negotiations with Albania by opening Cluster 1 on the fundamentals.
The European Commissioner for Enlargement, Marta Kos, expressed her readiness to support the opening of the remaining clusters by the end of 2025.
