News: Council of Europe finds irregularities during recent elections in Serbia

The delegation of the Parliamentary Assembly of the Council of Europe  identified a number of irregularities during the parliamentary elections in Serbia on 3 April.

The delegation found a number of procedural flaws in the distribution of polling stations, as well as numerous cases of violation of electoral secrecy and of voting buying and selling procedures. The delegation also stressed that the elections were held in a climate of strong political polarization between the government and opposition parties, inviting Serbia to implement concrete measures to improve its electoral system.
