News: Croatian President's No to Sweden and Finland in NATO
Croatian President, Zoran Milanovic, feared the possibility of the Croatian veto on the entry into NATO of Finland and Sweden until the electoral law in Bosnia and Herzegovina will be amended to protect the Croatian minority. The entry of the two countries into the Atlantic Alliance was the subject of discussion for some time, but the war in Ukraine has accelerated the process. On 14 and 15 May, Sweden and Finland will present their application for membership at the special summit of the Foreign Ministers of the Atlantic Alliance. During a press conference in Brussels, NATO Secretary-General, Jens Stoltenberg, said that the process would proceed rapidly, suggest that the two nations could join the military pact as early as June, at the next Atlantic Alliance summit in Madrid.
