News: EU signed a cooperation agreement in migration with Serbia
The European Commission has signed an agreement on operational cooperation with Serbia to in order strengthen border control.
The agreement is part of the Action Plan for the Western Balkans which, in addition to border management, provides for the alignment of visa policy and cooperation on asylum, readmission and return procedures. The agreement is the fifth signed with a partner from the Balkans region - after Moldova, North Macedonia, Montenegro and Albania, while negotiations with Bosnia and Herzegovina are still ongoing - but it will have to be approved by the European and Serbian Parliament, and by the Member States. The agreement will allow Frontex to deploy its agents on Serbian territory - currently Frontex agents on Balkan territory are more than 480
