News: Montenegro appoints three of the four judges of the Constitutional Court and prepares for March presidential elections
27 February 2023
After a long institutional crisis, the Assembly of Montenegro elected three of the four judges of the Constitutional Court, a basic condition to restore the full functionality of the Montenegrin institution and to continue the European path of the country.
The President of the European Council, Charles Michel, welcomed the appointment "with great favor" underlining the "really important step towards a fully functioning judicial system".
The country is preparing to return to the polls on 19 March for the election of the next President of the Republic, a post currently held by Milo Đukanović since 2018.
