News: Serbia and Russia reach an agreement in principle on gas supply

Serbian President Aleksandar Vučić and Russian President Vladimir Putin have reached an agreement in principle on gas supply. Russian Foreign Minister Sergei Lavrov announced his next visit to Serbia on 6 and 7 June, to discuss with Vucic about the "EU mediation role" and the Kosovo issue.

Lavrov’s visit could jeopardise German Chancellor Olaf Scholz’s Balkan tour, which will take place in Belgrade on 10 June.

Meanwhile, Montenegro, North Macedonia and Bulgaria closed their airspace on the occasion of Lavrov’s visit to Serbia.
