Women in state building and democratization processes in Kosovo
The policy brief by Lura Pollozhani, explores the historical and contemporary role of women in Kosovo's state-building and democratization process. The paper analyses also the role of women artists and influential figures in spreading Kosovo's Soft Diplomacy and gaining global visibility.
Despite improvements in women inclusion, challenges remain, including the issue of gender-based violence and the persisting adversities in providing justice to victims.
In light of Kosovo's unique position whereby it is still developing its institutions, and the role that women play in its democratization, the policy brief investigates the possible adoption of a Feminist Foreign Policy in order to redefine and addressing unequal power relations, fostering new partnerships and reinforce Kosovo's commitment to justice and equality both domestically and in relation to other countries.
