Africa and ongoing changes

An overview of the African continent where, even among the many differences between the States, enormous contradictions coexist, partially an inheritance from the past and partially deriving from globalisation.

These are mainly poor economies, often registering very high growth rates, strongly dependent from international markets and from a productive specialization focused on few sectors.

Economic regional and continental integration is scarcely developed, whereas Asia, particularly China, are establishing as the main commercial partners.
